I am always completely transfixed by incredible public speakers! How they speak with conviction, and aim to captivate, inspire and intertwine stories that resound with the topic at hand.Think of Tony Robbins, Barack Obama, John F. Kennedy , and Oprah. I admire their ability to communicate effectively and to make the heads of listeners bob up and down as a silent “Yes, I understand!”
As humans we seek to be understood. We raise our voices to express our opinion, our perspective and our authentic truth. We want to share our story so others can learn about us. We speak to get our desires, our wants and our needs. As an infant, we would cry to get our needs met. Once we begin to learn words, we use those words to express, connect, and share.
I wish I was a powerful orator from the start. Sadly, that's just not the situation.When did my fear of public speaking show up?
